Account Executive

At Altus Assessments, we work in partnership with post-secondary academic institutions to help get people with the empathy, resiliency and communication skills into the programs that grow our future medical professionals and teachers in Canada, the US and as far away as Australia. We uncover humanity through psychometric evaluations and tests consisting of situational, open-ended questions that don’t have a right or wrong answer. Using our rigorous, well-researched and tested assessments combined with data-driven insights, we help determine what the chances of them successfully completing a program is, as well as how professional they will be.

Who we need

Reporting to the VP, Sales we are adding an Account Executive to our team to support our growth. We need someone who is comfortable engaging prospective customers in Higher Education. You enjoy enriching discussions with potential customers on the current state of research for academic admissions and love to share how our assessments can help improve their process. This is an opportunity to take your experience in sales and apply it to selling a product that will change the face of healthcare and other professions - literally.

What problem are we trying to solve?

Academia is a sector where decisions are made under careful consideration: The issue of fair assessments that seek out the best in an applicant’s soft skills is not always urgent to busy people administering admissions - when one cycle ends, another starts, leaving little time to look at improving the process. By taking the approach of storytelling, examining data analytics and presenting academic research, you will generate interest. In order to take the next step, it’s vital that our new Account Executive is respectful, process-oriented, and ready to step up to the challenges of overcoming objections and gaining trust.

Our new Account Executive has:

  • The education. Ideally, you have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • The experience. You have 4+ years enterprise B2B sales experience in a tech startup environment where you've exceeded sales quotas. You know the value of a well-maintained CRM, and you work to improve the sales process continuously.
  • The collaborative approach.  You have a scrappy "roll up your sleeves" approach to work. You can build relationships within and across teams. From one-on-one conversations to panel presentations, your communication skills are outstanding.
  • The dedication. You want to be part of a fantastic team that cares for each other and cares about the long term success of what we do. You are flexible and understand that ambiguity is sometimes part of the nature of a fast-growing company.
